Stephen Lewis is a brilliant Canadian that does not receive enough credit as a thinker and a speaker.
Alejandro Arbona Officially Announces ‘Before Lebowski’
This summer, Alejandro Arbona will publish all-new comic books expanding on the acclaimed LEBOWSKI universe.
As highly anticipated as they are controversial, the seven inter-connected prequel mini-series will build on the foundation of the original LEBOWSKI, sooner on up the trail, in years prior to the early ’90s and our conflict with Saddam and the Iraqis. BEFORE LEBOWSKI will be the collective banner for all seven titles from Alejandro Arbona.
Grant Morrison
Happy 52nd Birthday to the man I look up to most; Grant Morrison!
I’d love to make a new graphic in his honor, but atm I’ve got to run off to class, so you’ll have to appreciate the one I made last year again.

An Open Letter To the Criterion Collection:
Since 1984, you have devoted yourselves to preserving and distributing important films, “publishing them in editions of the highest technical quality, with supplemental features that enhance the appreciation of the art of film.” I can only assume, then, that it is some grievous oversight that has led to the omission of the 1982 classic MegaForce from your library.
The film was directed by Hal Needham, a true American auteur whose work dealt with complex themes ranging from defiance of authority in the name of drinking the beer you choose rather than the one you’re allowed (Smokey and the Bandit), the inner workings of the film industry itself (Hooper) and even the thrilling, romantic world of BMX racing (Rad). MegaForce is, in many ways, his masterpiece, a message of hope that assured even a jaded, lost generation that the good guys always win — even in the ’80s.
It is also not currently available in any digital format, and with the demise of VHS, it is in danger of becoming a truly lost film.
I would like to request that you set aside your Jims Jarmusch and Weses Anderson for a moment and turn your attention to preserving this film for generations to come. If you truly wish to enhance appreciation for art of the film, then what better way to do so with flying rocket-powered motorcycles?
Thank you for your time, and remember: Deeds, not words.
Sincerely,
Chris Sims
PS: I mean Jesus Christ you did fucking Armageddon.
This is fucking awesome. Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, Mina Badie & Jeff Garlin(yes, of Curb) reading a forthcoming issue of Criminal. This rules so much!
